Use your phone as a monitor for Sony cameras. A lot of you asked about older or more affordable Sony models that are not supported by the Monitor and Control app. Good news, there’s another option that works with almost all Sony cameras: Imaging Edge. This app already existed, but before the updates the video feed was too laggy to be usable. Now it’s much better, and for some situations, it does the job. It’s useful when: – You’re filming yourself – You’re setting up an interview – You just want to quickly check framing and focus without extra gear It’s not a replacement for a proper external monitor on client shoots, but it’s a solid backup and completely free. How to connect it: – Open Imaging Edge and go to Camera Connection / Registration – If your camera is listed, select it. If not, choose Register Other Models – Make sure your camera firmware is up to date – Turn Wi-Fi ON – Turn Bluetooth OFF – Set Ctrl w/ Smartphone ON – Press the Connection button on your camera – Scan the QR code shown on your camera screen Once connected, you get a live view that’s good enough to check your frame and basic settings. Again, fewer controls than Monitor and Control, and some latency, but for solo shooters or simple setups, it’s still very useful. #videographer #videoediting #contentcreator #monitor #sony
